The Forum Amusements arcade can be noticed by its distinctive blue pyramid that can be seen pointing to the sky boasting a central location on Sea Road, across from the promenade gardens.
This ocean blue style seems to be a theme throughout the arcade with similar blue lighting seen inside the venue and prize-winning tickets also being a distinct blue colour (other local venues have yellow tickets).
Big Blue Amusements Arcade
Upon entry you are greeted with a huge range of coin pushers arranged in sections to make best use of the space. There are modern coin pushers with tickets for prize style redemption and some older tuppenny falls machines, which offer cash and shelf only prizes.
There are Minions, Alice through the Looking Glass, Sweet Falls, Let’s Go Bingo, Pac-Man, Hippodrome, Justice League and Bar X coin pusher gaming machines available.
Nested around the coin pushers were larger ticket for prizes style machines including fairground games, basketball arcade games and other throwing ticket redemption machines.
£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines
At the far end of the arcade are large Adders & Ladders and Party Time sit down quad machines both being £5 jackpot fruit machines.
Along the rear wall is a large change kiosk which also doubles up and the main prize window. They have a great range of prizes for redemption here and the staff are helpful and attentive.
At the opposite end of the venue there are some more £5 jackpot fruit machines including a standalone Around the Clock machine. There are also some single and triple ticket slot machines that only pay out wins in the form of their lovely blue tickets.
Casino Slots Area
Here you can find a wide range of different fruit and slot machines. They have a nice balance between modern digital gaming terminals such as Blueprint and Golden Greats and more traditional mechanical gaming machines. There is a good mix of jackpots from £25 right the way up to £500, with most common being £100 jackpot slot machines.
There are Party Time and Rainbow Riches casino slots that you can sit down and play as well as standalone fruit machines including Bullion Bars and Super Streak.
We played on the Fortune Community £100 jackpot terminals on a game called Wild Fever, which was great fun and paid out a nice win. Not bad as we kept the stake low at 25 pence per play.
Set away from the children's arcade area, the adult zone had enough sections to be able to play on the gaming machines peacefully.
Venue Verdict
Heavily focussed on 10 pence and tuppenny coin pushers with tickets for prizes, this amusement arcade is perfect for families who want to have fun, yet make the pennies go further!
