Walton Arcades

Walton-on-the-Naze, alongside Frinton-on-Sea, lies south of the busy ports at Harwich and north of the bustling Clacton beach resort, offering a peaceful yet charming alternative. This seaside holiday destination is known for its historic promenades and a large, traditional pier that provides a perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment. Walton is also a great location for cycling enthusiasts, with scenic seafront routes extending south to Clacton. Along the way, visitors can take in views of the sprawling Frinton beach huts, lush golf courses, and numerous coastal sites that make for an interesting and leisurely pursuit.

Enthusiasts can discover two fun-filled Walton arcades, and although nearby seaside resorts such as Clacton and Felixstowe have a larger number of venues, do not be put off, as the Walton entertainment venues are certainly worth experiencing. The first is Kino Amusements Arcade, which is located opposite the ice cream kiosks on the main beach area. Here players can enjoy a wealth of modern ticket redemption games and coin pushers set in a fun atmosphere with a large adult gaming area to the rear of the arcade, which is open later to cater for the nearby passing pub trade. The second arcade is the iconic Walton Pier Arcade, one of the largest amusement arcades (and piers) in the UK. Set in a vast space with atmospheric lighting, the arcade features hundreds of machines, creating a mesmerising atmosphere as they light up in the matt black. It’s a true visual spectacle that adds to the excitement of arcade gaming.

Walton-on-the-Naze is home to a range of beach attractions that make it a fantastic destination for coastal lovers. The long, sandy beach is perfect for sunbathing, picnicking, and building sandcastles, while the historic Walton Pier offers spectacular views of the coast. Visitors can enjoy a stroll along the esplanade, with its colourful beach huts, or take in the sights from the charming gardens and parks in the area.
