Hopton is a popular seaside resort situated between Gorleston & Great Yarmouth to the north and Lowestoft to the south. Once a small village, it has grown into a thriving holiday destination, thanks in part to the Haven Holiday Village, which offers a wide range of cabins and caravans for seasonal visitors. The area benefits from excellent road links, as well as convenient options for cyclists and walkers, with the Norfolk Coastal Path providing a shortcut through to the nearby south Gorleston Golf Course.
There are three fantastic Hopton arcades all located within walking distance of each other. Bubbles Arcade and Stardust Arcade are located along the main thoroughfare, Warren Road, while the third is nestled within the Haven entertainment complex at the Marina Stage and Bar, the central hub for Haven Holiday visitors. A short journey north is also Gorleston-on-Sea, which also has several great family entertainment venues, amusement arcades and casino lounges to discover.
Hopton offers several walkable beachside access points to the beach both from within the Haven Holiday Park and from local spots used by residents. Due to coastal erosion, the shoreline is protected by large boulder sea defences, creating a unique landscape along this stretch of coastline. Just five minutes to the north is the award-winning beach at Gorleston-on-Sea, a favourite destination for holidaymakers seeking white sandy beaches.
