Fun City Amusements Arcade Whitby

Fun City is an amusement arcade located on the north side of the River Esk on Pier Road, amongst other tourist entertainment venues. There are several parking options nearby, all within walking distance, as Whitby is very pedestrian-friendly. 
Intro to the venue

The Fun City arcade is bright and clean, with a good range of modern arcade machines. The venue has several double-door entrances, providing easy access for most visitors, although there is a slight step at each entrance which wheelchair users may need a hand with.

Childrens Arcade Games

There are tons of mini grabber machines at this arcade, making it a great choice for children. Toy House and Prize Grab are packed with fun mini plushies and teddies, while the mini Find-a-Key Golden Egg game offers instant-win prize lockers, giving pint-sized players plenty of chances to win.

Claw Machines

This arcade venue is a real mecca for claw machine fans, with a fantastic range of modern claw and crane games. Alongside those already mentioned, there are also rows of Catching Duck and Happy Games claw machines, each packed with a colourful selection of plush prizes.

There are also several Skill Cut Winner games, giving players the chance to win giant plushies to take home. Fans of spinning games can also enjoy the popular Winfall Revolution, adding even more variety to the arcade's modern game selection.

Coin Pushers

Fun City Amusements has a couple of fun 2p machines packed with winnable shelf prizes, including the popular Key to Success coin pusher with instant-win prize lockers and a classic Snakes-n-Ladders pusher. There are also plenty of change machines available, making it easy to stock up on 2p and 10p coins for the machines.

Classic Arcade Games

Fun City has a two-player Wildwest Shootout, a fun modern arcade shooter featuring quick-draw cowboy pistols. There is also a kids' Shark Park game where players can test their aim by knocking down the sharks and trying to beat the high score. The arcade has a nice selection of games focused on pure entertainment, so players can simply enjoy the games and compete for high scores without the need for messing about with tickets.

Fruit Machines

A couple of triple-row classic fruit machines were spotted at this arcade, including Bullion Bars and Party Time, both featuring upper feature boards. There is also a Skill Ball Zingy game with a £50 jackpot. These are perfect for parents to have a go on while the kids are busy trying to beat the claw machines, giving grown-ups something to enjoy while the kids play.

Slots Lounge

The adult gaming centre is completely separate and appears to be located in the building next door, which is called Casino Slots. It has a similar look and presentation to a well-known high street slots lounge, although this is a separate venue next door to the arcade.

Venue Verdict

Fun City is a fun little arcade that is meticulously clean, bright and well presented, making it well suited to youngsters and visiting tourists, including school trips and family days out. The venue makes great use of its available space, with a strong selection of modern claw machines and other games to keep visitors entertained. An ideal venue for claw fans to wander in and out of while having a go at the machines and trying to win a prize.
