The Mint Amusement Arcade Cleethorpes

Located on the central promenade, The Mint Arcade occupies a prime beachfront position at the heart of Cleethorpes' main tourist area, right beside the entrance to Cleethorpes Pier, home to the famous Papa's Fish & Chips restaurant. Surrounded by the resort's busiest attractions, visitors can enjoy the nearby Pier Gardens and Dolphin Gardens, stroll along the seafront or hop aboard the popular Lollipop Road Train, which conveniently stops right outside the arcade.

With the Mint Arcade occupying a central position on the promenade, there is plentiful parking available just a short walk away in both directions. The entrance features a wide, level access point that appears to be wheelchair accessible. Its eye-catching frontage is topped by a glittering sign that stands out along the seafront, while rows of permanent claw machines line the outside of the venue, enticing passers-by to try their luck and win one of the many plush prizes on offer. With coin-operated games throughout the arcade, several change machines are conveniently located around the building.

Children's Arcade Games

Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by a colourful selection of kiddie rides, including a rocket ship, a Peppa Pig car and a charming ride-on carousel, making it a perfect spot for family photos. Younger visitors will also find several child-friendly arcade machines, including Wet-n-Wild, Yellow Submarine 2 and a Shining Cube claw machine. With so much aimed at younger visitors, The Mint Arcade is a great choice for families with small children.

Outside, visitors can find more than fifteen full-sized claw machines filled with quality plush prizes, including popular licensed characters and designs. Inside, there is even more to discover, including a Giga Crane and four mini Maxx Grab claw machines offering a range of fun prizes. This amusements has a fantastic selection of coin pushers, with generously stocked coin shelves filled with exciting prizes to win. During our visit, we found popular machines including Rainbow Riches, Snakes & Ladders, Rock-n-Roll and Merry Go Round, alongside a classic Crompton’s Carousel. While the coin pushers focus on winning physical prizes rather than ticket rewards, the generous selection of quality shelf prizes gives players plenty of exciting rewards to aim for.

Fans of classic arcade fun will love this amusement arcade, which features a fantastic selection of machines including the futuristic-looking Surfer air hockey table with its eye-catching design. Visitors can also enjoy two-player arcade shooters such as Jurassic Park Arcade and Aliens Armageddon, alongside the ever-popular Mario Kart DX arcade racing game. The real highlight for arcade enthusiasts is the stunning Luigi’s Mansion, tucked away in the corner. This machine is becoming increasingly difficult to find, making this well-maintained example a real treat for fans of classic arcade gaming.

The Mint Arcade currently focuses on instant-win prizes rather than ticket arcade games, with players winning rewards directly from the machines. Highlights include the golden egg Find-a-Key claw game and the fabulous Zoltar Speaks fortune teller machine, where players receive a physical fortune card to keep as a memorable souvenir. The Mint is a clean, spacious and well-thought-out arcade, best for families with young children and plush prize hunters. It features some great standout machines and is clearly well run, with a strong focus on instant-win games and plush prizes. Visitors approaching the seafront from town are first greeted by The Mint’s attractive signage, providing a bright and welcoming introduction to the fun that Cleethorpes has to offer.
