Carousel Amusements Arcade Sheringham

Carousel Amusements is located on the Sheringham High Street, a short walk from the seafront. Contained within and surrounded by historic buildings, this venues facade encapsulates the charm of the Victorian seaside era, whilst providing visitors with classic and modern family entertainment that has been a staple of the town (and beachside holidays) for many generations.

The beach-end of the high street is shared amicably by pedestrians and slow moving vehicles and there are many unique and interesting shops and food options here from fish and chips to modern takeaway kiosks to hearty pub dinners.

Arcade Exploring

This arcade is split into two areas with three different entrances depending on the season / weather / time of day. The old-time corner entrance takes visitors into the main room which is a classic seaside arcade. In here they have a selection of classic and modern arcade games and machines to enjoy. 

Coin Pushers

There are some interesting classic arcade coin pushers in the main room including small two player machines - Bionic Bunch and a cute Summer Time by Cromptons. 

Modern coin pushers included Snakes ‘n’ Ladders, Sweet Falls, Sweet Dreams and Push Yer Luck, though it didn’t seem like they pay out redemption style ticket wins. 

They have a large Disco Gold three player coin pusher in the middle of the arcade with plush prizes to be won from the shelf including mini ‘Steven the Seagull’ toys. This is a lovely looking coin pusher that you don’t see every day. 

At the time of visiting, it was close to Halloween and we were pleasantly surprised to see a nice range of shelf prizes that included some with Halloween toys, gifts and sweets. 

Crane Claw Machines

Fans of claw machines will love Carousel Amusements Sheringham. They have a wide range of different types of grabber machines, and all have great prizes that visitors can win. There is a row of large Elaut Giga claw machines full of the latest teddies and plush toys including branded Disney toy such as Lion King and Lilo and Stitch.

There is a stack of two Toy Stack claw machines which allow pint-sized players to play at the same time as adults and win mini Plushies including Steven the Seagull and Lilo & Stitch characters. 

Near the front doors is a row of smaller grabber style machines with various different prizes and methods of play. On the other side is the classic Golden Egg machine where players can win a mystery prize hidden inside the golden egg. 

Children can also win up to four Chupa Chups lollies in the mini grabber style machine at the front of the venue. 

Classic Arcade Games 

Fans of classic arcade will enjoy the four player Tomb Raider arcade shooting game which isn’t something you see much these days. A more modern version of this type of game is also available in the Big Buck Hunter Reloaded two player game, which players shoot rifles at not only big game, but also zombies and terminator-style characters!

If tuppenny games are more your thing, then certainly have a go on the Monopoly roll-down machine. We are unsure if this machine pays out tickets or not, perhaps they can be redeemed in the arcade next door?

Big Ticket Arcade Games

There are no fairground, large sit-down or wheel spinner ticket arcade games in this arcade venue, which is understandable as it is not the biggest amusement arcade. There are also no Ticket Slot Machines either, though they do have some nice coin pushers.

£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines

Carousel amusements has a triple row of Bullion Bars £5 jackpot fruit machines.

Casino Slots Area

Along with claw machines, this is where this amusement arcade shines as they have a large separate room, which houses a big casino slot machine area. 

Here they have a great range of the very latest casino slot machines and gaming terminals. With it’s own entrance and later opening, Carousel gaming venue is ideal for visitors from the nearby pubs to visit and break up their night with some exciting gaming fun. 

There are rows of the latest Blueprint and Light and Wonder digital gaming terminals with the latest games including Eye of Horus, Monopoly and Cops and Robbers. These machines have jackpots up-to £500 with many being £100 jackpot slot machines. 

Carousel casino gaming room also has a modern change machine where you can change cash and also redeem tickets, so you don’t have to even go to the change kiosk to cash out large wins, which is extremely convenient. 

Fans of more traditional style fruit machines will also be happy to find standalone chrome-cabinet Rainbow Riches machines with £100 jackpot, Double Jackpot poker slot machines and also several sit-down machines including triple Rainbow Riches and Gold Run machines and a quad Bullion Bars with upper feature board. 

The ambience in here is great and there is also a Lavazza coffee machine for patrons who want to feel at home with a nice hot drink.

Venue Verdict

Carousel arcade caters for passing trade with a great selection of coin pushers and claw machines. It also opens later for adults to enjoy a flutter in the casino gaming lounge. 

Alongside it’s now sister venue a short walk down the street, Carousel makes for a fantastic gaming experience for the whole family to enjoy. For days out or longer trips, a visit to Sheringham would not be complete without exploring the Carousel Amusements.
