Empire Amusements Arcade Mablethorpe

Empire Amusements is an arcade located at the rear of the Empire building on the High Street in Mablethorpe. While the front of the venue serves as a popular café called the Coffee Lounge, the rear area is dedicated to the Empire amusement arcade and also Cheeky Monkeys, which is a kids’ soft play area. 

From the High Street, the coffee lounge has a busy outer forecourt and upper deck. Here, visitors can enjoy the bustle of the high street, which is particularly busy on market days when the High Street is taken over and used for local traders selling a wide range of items from market stalls. The Coffee Lounge also has a licensed bar which has a great range of beers and spirits on offer. 

Arcade Entrance

Heading through the coffee lounge into the rear of the venue, visitors will find a secondary seating area and café kiosk which serves the arcade and kid’s soft play. The rear area is also wheelchair accessible and pet friendly and there were plenty of pups when we visited. 

Empire Amusements also has its own dedicated entrances on Wellington Road, including a separate entrance for the adult gaming area. From what can be seen, the arcade appears to have previously housed a larger number of traditional arcade games, with some space now repurposed to accommodate additional café seating for parents while children enjoy the soft play area, complete with slides and upper levels to explore. Despite this, there remains a strong selection of fun amusement arcade games and machines, making it well worth a visit.

Claw Machines

Empire Amusements has some fun claw machines to enjoy, and these include Toy Box and ‘Prize Every Time’ crane games. There are also some classic Elaut Super Crane grabbers and a Minions claw machine.

Coin Pushers

Most of the arcade is taken up by a fun selection of classic coin pushers and while there is no ticket redemption here, they offer some fun shelf prizes to be won, including ornaments and keychains. They have classic Noble Knights and Rollercoaster pushers, as well as a rare Star Wars - The Force Awakens coin pusher.

Fruit Machines 

They have a selection of £5 jackpot fruit machines, including several T7 style machines and also a range of classic arch-top Electrocoin games including Casino Bar-X, Classic Super Streak and Super 7. There is also a Deal or No Deal Win Fall, Clockwork Oranges arch-top and a Skill Ball Zingy machine with a £50 jackpot.

Slots Lounge

There is a dedicated slots lounge with a great range of digital terminals and classic fruit machines. Here, there are big jackpots, ranging from £25 all the way to £500. They have modern slot machine favourites from the likes of Blueprint Gaming, and also a triple community Rainbow Riches slots game. 

Venue Verdict

Empire is an interesting building to explore, and both the Coffee Lounge and the Empire Amusements have a bustling atmosphere, making it a perfect place to enjoy a coffee or pit stop. If you are looking for a great place to have lunch whilst letting the kids expend some energy in a safe environment, then Empire is a great option. While the arcade doesn’t have the largest range of machines, it is certainly still worth visiting to discover old favourites and timeless classics.
