EmojiPlanet Amusement Arcade Mablethorpe

Bright, bold and bursting with colour, EmojiPlanet is a glimpse of the future of arcades (and it has landed right on Mablethorpe’s seafront!). This is not a tired seaside arcade filled with worn-out games from the 90’s. Instead, EmojiPlanet offers cutting-edge Asian market-inspired arcade technology, wrapped in a fun, Emoji-themed world that feels fresh, exciting and completely different.

From the moment visitors spot the glowing neon signage, it is clear this arcade is designed to stand out. Squeaky-clean glass, vibrant colours, playful Emoticons, modern LEDs and a sleek, uniform design that runs throughout the venue. Every detail is intentional, from the Emoji machines themselves to the prize shop signage, creating an experience that feels more like stepping into a computer game world than a classic arcade.

Previously known as the popular Family Amusements, EmojiPlanet Arcade is located on the High Street in Mablethorpe, close to the main beach access. On the outside of the venue are two popular food kiosks – Scoops ice cream and Two Guys fast food. As visitors enter the venue, the bright colour scheme and lighting electrify the senses, and a selfie wall with emoji icons is ready to capture the moment. There is EmojiPlanet branding and signage everywhere, and this perfectly complements the machines. 

Children’s Arcade Games

The arcade is clearly designed with children in mind. While there are no tired old kiddie rides, most of the machines are aimed at younger players, and many are smaller in size, making them easier for children to enjoy. Games like Duck Dive and Dragon Eggs offer a prize every time, which is always a hit with kids. There is also a large row of Emoji Prize Box claw machines, with the lower machines set at the perfect height for smaller children to have a go.

Claw Machines

EmojiPlanet Arcade has a wide range of claw machines, all of which look brand new. They are bright, shiny and kept very clean, making it easy to see the attractive plush prizes inside. As well as several rows of full and half-sized Emoji Prize Box claw machines, others include High Five, Prize Every Time, Emoji Grabber, Toy Box, Duck Party, Sweet Treat and even a classic Ticket Dome for nudging off ticket reels! 

The teddies and plush prizes are all available in different sizes, and these include quality branded plushies such as Minecraft, Steven the Seagull, Smurfs, Turtles and Winnie the Pooh characters or one of the large range of Emoji plushie characters. They also have other prizes on offer such as rubber duckies, keychains and lucky eggs. 

Coin Pushers

The range of coin pushers at EmojiPlanet is excellent, with the venue focusing solely on the latest interactive, ticket-paying machines. There is no scratched glass or easily clogged penny pushers here. One standout is the four-player Key to Success pusher, which features instant-win prize lockers where players aim to knock mystery eggs or boxes from the coin shelf. Other coin pushers include ticket-paying Pac-Man, Let’s Go Quackers, Let’s Go Bingo with its upper bingo feature board, and Pick ’n’ Mix.

They also have Wheel of Fun, which is a fantastic coin pusher that has interactive bonus wheel displays at the coin shelf level and also an upper feature board wheel, where players can win big ticket prizes. There is also an Over the Edge ball pusher and a two-player Neon Tower, which is a very impressive closed-loop immersive coin stacker game.

Classic Arcade Games

While the EmojiPlanet venue is futuristic, they do also carry several classic arcade games. Visitors are greeted by the iconic Zoltar Fortune Teller on the way into the arcade. There is also a classic Ticket Dome nudger and a two-player arcade racing game called Monster Kart DLX, which is similar to Mario Kart and also pays out ticket wins for high scores. 

Another iconic arcade machine is the electrifying Addams Family electric shock machine, where players have to test their nerve by holding onto the electric shock handles to light up Uncle Fester’s lightbulb! Absolute classic. There is also a regular two-player arcade shooting game called Carnival Shot, which awards instant win prizes to lucky contestants. 

Ticket Slot Machines

This amusement arcade has a triple-row Temple of Tickets ticket slot machine for any adults who wish to spin some reels, whilst the little ones are having fun.

Adult Gaming

With the EmojiPlanet Amusement Arcade being geared toward children, there is no adult gaming centre or slots area here, though they do have two Skill Ball Zingy machines, which are quick-draw bingo games, where players can win a top prize of £50. 

Venue Verdict

EmojiPlanet Mablethorpe is 100% unique in the UK amusement arcade scene. Stepping inside feels more like entering a futuristic Japanese game show than just a regular seaside arcade. The machines are visually stunning and immaculately presented, with so much detail on display that it could take several visits to fully take it all in. That is no problem, though, as players can collect and retain tickets to trade in for high-quality Emoji-themed prizes in the impressive prize shop.
