Premier Amusements Arcade Bridlington

The Premier Arcade is located on Princes Street, overlooking Bridlington Harbour and the lower promenade in the heart of the town's main tourist area. Directly beneath the arcade is a gift shop selling traditional seaside souvenirs, including sticks of rock, while a staircase and pedestrian alleyway provide easy access between the lower promenade and the main entrance on Princes Street. The arcade is also known as ‘Shaws Family Fun’, with Shaws being synonymous with amusements and fairground-related offerings across the North of England.

The Premier Arcade stands out with its bold, eye-catching frontage, contrasting with the more traditional buildings that surround it. Step-free access makes the entrance wheelchair accessible, although the interior is relatively compact due to the wide selection of games packed inside. Outside, a hilarious Donald Trump machine puts a modern spin on the classic fortune teller machine, drawing plenty of laughs and attention from passers-by. Alongside it, a boxing punch machine invites visitors to test their strength, offering the perfect alternative to landing one on Trump.

Kids Arcade Games

At the front of the venue, a fine selection of kiddie rides are available, making the perfect photo opportunity for families with young children and these include Galloping horses, choo choo train, a mini carousel and more! There are also several other games perfect for pint-sized players including mini claw machines and Ticket Dome-style crane games.

Claw Machines

Shaws Premier Amusements has a great range of claw machines packed with fun plush prizes. There is a row of Happy Crab claw games, along with ‘Prize Every Time’ Crazy Toy cranes, Find-a-Key mini claw grabbers and Shining Cubes aimed at younger visitors. Further inside the arcade, there are several Skill Cut machines and a Stack-n-Grab, which is a cool hybrid combining the classic block-stacking game with crane machine fun.

Coin Pushers

This amusement arcade has a fun range of coin pushers, including Crompton's Carousel, Coronation Street, Hippodrome and Clown Around. There are also more modern pushers such as Sweet Success, Justice League and Key to Success with instant win prize lockers. An unusual 2p machine found here is ‘The Sweet Money Pusher’, which has a wide shelf, instant win prizes and different coin inserts.

It did not appear that there were any ticket coin pushers here, though it is worth shouting out that the shelves were jam-packed with both coins and prizes. This made the pushers feel very winnable, and we won several prizes ourselves, while also witnessing others winning prizes from the 2p machines. Overall, this is a great arcade for prize hunters.

Classic Arcade Games

There are several classic arcade games to enjoy at Shaws Amusements, including an AirFX air hockey table, The Beatles pinball machine and the Wild West Shootout arcade shooter. Younger visitors are also well catered for, with half-sized Sonic All-Stars basketball machines and other children's basketball games. It is also worth mentioning that the arcade features a traditional change kiosk, several change machines dotted throughout the venue and an on-site ATM for anyone needing to withdraw cash.

Fruit Machines

There are many classic fruit machines at the Premier Arcade and these are mostly triple row classics such as Bullion Bars, Party Time Double Decker, Star Spangled Sevens and the popular Rainbow Riches. There is also a selection of Electrocoin arch-top £5 jackpot fruit machines. The popular Bongo Bingo skill ball machine can also be played with a £50 jackpot!

Slots Lounge

The adult gaming area has a great atmosphere, with large rear windows overlooking Bridlington Harbour that provide an excellent spot to take in the views or snap a photo. There are comfy casino chairs and refreshments provided for players. Inside, there is a good mix of £100 and £500 machines, although the emphasis is mostly on classic fruit machines with mechanical reels.

Digital slots include several Blueprint Gaming terminals and £100 Vegas community machines. Fans of big jackpot fruit machines are well catered for, with triple-row cabinets including Bullion Bars, alongside standalone favourites such as Million Dollar Max, Deal or No Deal Gold and several Electrocoin arch-top cabinets.

From well-stocked claw machines and generous coin pushers to classic arcade games and traditional fruit machines, there is something for every type of player. The venue is clean, colourful and full of character, with plenty of instant-win prizes helping to create a rewarding experience throughout. While just round the corner from Bridlington's main arcade cluster, it is absolutely worth seeking out and deserves a place on any family itinerary exploring the town's amusements.
