Claremont Pier Amusement Arcade Lowestoft

The Claremont Pier Arcade is ideally situated in the middle of the Lowestoft South Beach, forming a useful divide between both beaches. It makes for an all-inclusive family day out as there is an abundance of parking nearby and the south beach is a great place to swim and play, being one of the best-kept beaches on the east coast of England. 

The benefits of the beach, along with the multiple food and drink kiosks, two bars and a fish and chips restaurant, mean visitors can have a nice day on the beach and get food and drinks as needed. There’s a modern toilet and changing facilities nearby on the south esplanade, and also the Wellington Esplanade Park with lovely floral arrangements. 

Amusement Arcade

At the front of the Amusements are a selection of young kiddie rides and also a boxing punch machine, cleverly positioned to appeal to the bar patrons above and next door in Pirana Joes. At the front of the arcade is a recent addition to the pier complex, which is the "Pirates at the Claremont" adventure golf attraction (this used to be a nightclub - opening times may differ).

Upon entering the arcade visitors are greeted by a large classic dance machine, perfect for teenagers who want to expend some energy! There are also some crane claw grabber machines along the side walls of the entranceway. 

The front of the arcade has various coin pushers, including Pac-Man, Cops and Robbers and Crazy Caterpillar. These are 2p and 10p coin pushers, with most having fruit reels bonuses that pay out not only coins and shelf prizes, but also good ticket wins (which can then be exchanged for prizes). 

Flanking the traditional coin pushers along the walls are some triple-row £5 Jackpot fruit machines. There are also more types of crane machines along the front arcade section.  

In the middle section of the arcade, patrons will find the change machines and a range of classic £5 Jackpot fruit machines. There are fan favourites like Crazy Fruits and Clockwork Orange, and also some standalone low-boy cabinets - such Lady Luck Moonstruck and Pots of Gold. 

Casino Gaming Area 

Int he middle section of the arcade, players will find a door to the over-18s adult casino slots area. Here, there is a range of different digital slot machines and mechanical fruit machines with big jackpots ranging from £25 to £500.

Heading left inside the adult area,, visitors can find all the digital machines with classic games from Blueprint Gaming such as Fishing Frenzy, Eye of Horus and King Kong Cash. It is a nice cosy atmosphere in here with comfortable chairs so players can game for hours.

On the right, there is a large triple-row sit-down Bar-X £100 Jackpot machine and also some classic standalone Bar-X style machines. 

Facilities in this section include nice ambient lighting, a small hatch that opens to the prize kiosk and also a fridge and tea & coffee facilities. Certainly a well-thought-out area for anyone who wants to game in a nice environment. 

Rear Arcade

Turning right out of the adult slots area brings patrons to a large rear arcade with a wide range of different fairground games including roll-down machines, skee-ball and many more. No expense has been spared in this section, as it has a range of the most up-to-date ticket arcade games available including Centipede Chaos, Crank It wheel spinner and even more modern coin pushers in the centre. There are also air hockey tables and classic arcade shooting games.  

At the rear of the arcade, there is a door to the original pier boardwalk, though only a small section is open as it is currently being renovated back to its former glory. 

Located at the side of the rear section is the prize shop and ticket window, where there is a range of interesting prizes, including electricals, toys, gadgets and sweets. 

Venue Verdict

This is a very well thought out amusements arcade, that makes great use of space with a wide range of arcade machines for both families with children and adult gaming fans. With all the other amenities available just outside and a fantastic beach, it’s a perfect pier arcade entertainment centre in a great setting that really makes for a wonderful day out.
