Located on Sea Lane opposite Fantasy Island, this venue serves as both an amusement arcade and a popular spot for grabbing lunch or dinner. Next door is Poppins Fish & Chips and also Scooby’s, which sells a wide range of beachwear and seaside staples.
Arcade Entrance
Upon entry, visitors will notice there are two long walkways that stretch to the rear of the venue with machines on either side. The ground is flat, making it wheelchair-friendly and fully accessible for mobility scooters. The venue is quite long, and at the very rear is where the café is located and also a four-lane mini bowling alley, which is £2 per player. There is also a change kiosk with classic arcade neon signage.

Children’s Arcade Games
Outside the front of the arcade, there is a forecourt where visitors can find a nice little collection of kiddie rides to be enjoyed by the youngest of visitors. These include a fire truck, race car, monster truck and Bob the Builder in his little digger. There are also a few more children’s arcade games inside, including Crazy Clock and a Rocketship at the rear.
Claw Machines
Joker Café Arcade has many classic claw machines, and these are located at the front and down the left side of the venue. Expect to find EX1 and E-claw machines packed with great plush prizes, including Minecraft, Sonic, Toy Story and other Disney characters. There is also a selection of modern Toy Stack claw grabbers and ‘prize every time’ machines.

Coin Pushers
If classic coin pushers are your thing, this arcade offers a delightful dose of nostalgia, with machines dating back to the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. Although there is no ticket redemption system in place here, the machines are interesting and unique and packed full of some great shelf prizes.

Classic coin pushers include Crompton’s Rock ‘n’ Roll 2, Orbita, Riviera, Rio Carnival, Monaco Grand Prix, Electric Rock, Can Can, Hippodrome, Love Machine and a modern Minions pusher. They also have several Pac-Man Ball arcade games from Namco, which are always fun to play.

VR Machines
Joker Amusements has a three-player VR array with a jukebox style selection screen offering a wide range of immersive experiences for family and friends to enjoy.

£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines
Alongside the great range of claw games and coin pushers, the Joker Arcade has a wide range of community £5 jackpot fruit machines. These include Party Time Arena, two Adders & Ladders with the upper board game from Vivid, four-player Gold Rush, Super Reels, Batman Begins, Rainbow King and Lady Luck Moonstruck.

Joker Amusements is very simple and does not have any fairground-style ticket redemption machines or classic games such as shoot-em-ups or arcade racing games. There is also no adult gaming section, though they do make up for this with the great range of Cat D fruit machines.

Venue Verdict
An old-school amusement arcade, featuring a strong mix of classic coin pushers and Cat D community fruit machines. For those seeking a touch of seaside nostalgia and the atmosphere of the good old days, the Joker Café Arcade is a standout choice. The café offers a relaxed spot to sit back while the kids enjoy a game of mini bowling. Highly Recommended.
