Namco Funscape Norwich is an entertainment complex of gigantic proportions. Here visitors can find a professional thirty lane bowling alley, amusement arcade, bar with casino slots and a separate cafe.
There are also other fun things to do here for groups and parties such as table tennis and a Gashapon area with Japanese collectable capsule toys. Pro bowlers can peruse the pro shop that sells bowling attire, balls and shoes and also enjoy glow bowling in the evenings.
Namco Arcade
The amusement arcade occupies the central area just behind the bowling alleys. There is also a side room and many different arcade machines dotted around the venue. With the venue being owned and operated by Namco (Bandai) they have a rather impressive Pac-Man display mural on the wall, which will excite any retro arcade fans thinking of visiting.
Coin Pushers
Namco Norwich has a nice range of ticket redemption coin pushers including Jurassic Park, Merry-go-round and Sweet Falls. The shelf prizes here are very generous and are full of sweets and lollies that are easily winnable.
Crane Claw Machines
Fans of claw grabber machines can find a row of E-Claw machines at the entrance of the venue. These include great plush prizes including Yoda, Pokemon and many more familiar cartoon characters. Furthermore, players can find shining cube cranes for pint-sized players to win smaller teddy bear prizes.
Classic Arcade Machines
They have a good range of classics including arcade shooting games Jurassic Park Arcade, Halo Fireteam Raven, Walking Dead (Dead Inside) and the popular arcade racer Mario Kart DX two player game where players can battle and throw shade (and shells) at friends, whilst racing. There is also a Pac Man Slider air hockey table near the main entrance so watch out for flying pucks!
Ticket Arcade Games
The Namco arcade has a good range of ticket arcade games and these include Scooby Doo Racer, which is a modern camel derby race style game that pays the winners in tickets. There is also a Lane Master arcade game, though not sure how many people would play this with a thirty-lane ten pin bowling alley a few metres away.
Fans of wheel spinner games will be happy to find a Big Bass Wheel where players can win up to 500 tickets. Throwing and aiming experts can also win tickets on the Pac Man Baller basketball arcade game and Down the Clown fairground arcade game.
Ticket Slot Machines
Within the Namco Funscape Amusements area there is a triple Temple of Tickets slot machine where players can win a 500 ticket jackpot! Tickets can be redeemed at the main counter for a great range of prizes.

Casino Slot Machines
Away from the main arcade there is a nice cosy bar serving a great range of alcoholic beverages. This is where the casino slots area is located. They have five fruit / slot machines all with £100 jackpots. There is a mechanical fruit machine called Deal or No Deal Turbo and four digital gaming terminals including Blueprint, Titan and Mazooma machine offering the latest slot games including Cops & Robbers, Monopoly and Eye of Horus. Up a few steps is a pool table area on the way to the main bowling lanes.
Venue Verdict
The Namco Funscape arcade is nearly as impressive as the thirty-lane bowling alley and although they do have a nice range here, the arcade doesn't quite live up to the Namco name and could have double the amount of arcade gaming machines, given the available space. The adult slots area provides enough for the size of the bar. Certainly worth a visit even for bowling or just to play friends at Mario Kart DX or Halo Fireteam Raven.
