Ocean Bay Amusements is located opposite the pier parking area next to the Pavilion Theatre and the Pier Hotel. There is a huge amount of parking options here and also the main lower cliff public toilet is located just across the road.

Arcade Exploring

The Ocean Bay arcade venue has a long frontage with the main set of double doors at one end and wide-open plan sliding doors at the other. Access for disabled is good for both entrances though it should be noted that the building is on a slope and that means there is a set of stairs dividing the venue into two main sections.

£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines

Upon entering the upper double doors one can find a section filled with £5 jackpot fruit machines. There is a good range of triple fruit / slot machines in this section including Batman Begins, Bullion Bars, Party Time Double Decker and Golden Winner.

They also have standalone Bank Raid (x2), Clockwork Orange, Jack in the Box and an original Simpsons Homer’s Meltdown machine from Maygay. Here one can also find two Skill Ball Zingy 2 machines with £50 jackpots

This is a great little area to spend some time if one wants a flutter on a budget!

Change Kiosk

In the upper area is the main change kiosk and also the prize windows opposite, displaying all of the different prizes on offer. There are also some coin pushers and grabber machines in this area.

Casino Slots Section

Behind the change kiosk is the adult casino slots area and here there are two rooms with a range of different machines for all types of players.

They have a Party Time Double Decker triple slot amongst various Blueprint and Light & Wonder terminals. There are £500 jackpot games alongside £25 and many £100 jackpot machines. 

Lower Arcade

The lower arcade houses all of the latest ticket machines and it has a great range for all the family. The entrance is split into a side with wheelchair access (ramp) and the side with stairs. At the front, there is a double horsey young kiddie ride and some smaller crane claw machines for budding gamers. 

Coin Pushers

There is a great range of coin pushers here with most paying out ticket wins alongside coin and shelf wins. The shelf prizes are generous, and they have ornaments, keychains, sweets and lollies.

Players can enjoy Homer Simpson’s Donut Daze, Monopoly, Lady Bug, Around the World, Justice League and Jurassic Park among other themes. 

Fairground Ticket Games

They have a great range of ticket-paying fairground games including two Shark Park throwing games, Whack-n-Win ticket machine, Spin Me Wheel pirate game and a Crank It wheel spinners.

They also have some Monopoly roll-down 2-pence ticket machines and also some modern closed loop roll-down machines (Tower of Terror and Snakes and Ladders) where players pay £1 for 35 plays. 

Arcade Games

They have a two-player Mario Kart DX arcade racing game at the rear of the arcade, and this is also next to a customer toilet which is a pleasant surprise in a compact venue. 

There is also a range of different crane claw grabbers dotted around the venue including a Win Fall Revolution machine with Prime drink and keychain prizes.

Ticket Slot Machines

If you want to play the reels, whilst keeping an eye on the youngsters fear not, Ocean Bay Arcade has two ticket slot machines triple rows at the rear of the arcade. These are Freddie’s Vacation (Flintstones style) and Pieces of Eight, both with comfy chairs available. There is also a Skill Ball Zingy 2 machine, where players can win a £50 jackpot!

Venue Verdict

Ocean Bay is a great local venue with a balanced range of arcade machines for all of the family to enjoy. The range of ticket arcade machines is on par with those on Great Yarmouth seafront and the prizes available are also of good quality. 

For fruit machine enthusiasts Ocean Bay Amusements is great as they have as many £5 jackpot fruit machines as they do casino slot machines. An arcade venue that is well worth a visit.
