Felixstowe is a fun seaside town located in Suffolk, on the east coast of England. It has convenient rail links from Ipswich on the Greater Anglia service, which is part of the direct line to London Liverpool Street. There is also lots of dedicated and street parking options for visitors. 

Felixstowe is also a port (twinned with Harwich) distributing goods to and from the local area. There are many static caravan parks also, providing enjoyable respite for families living and working in the more inland towns and cities. Like many seaside resorts across the UK, Felixstowe has upper and lower cliff areas and promenades and a selection of fine gardens, parks and walking paths to explore. The main tourist seafront area can be found on the creatively named ‘Sea Road’. This runs parallel to the beachfront promenade, which is a lovely walking path that runs most of the beach from the pier to the Suffolk Sands holiday park. Along the promenade are various gardens, parks, beach huts and food / entertainment Kiosks between the beach and the road.

5) Palace Bingo Hall Felixstowe

While not technically an amusement arcade (nor to be found on Sea Road), the Palace Bingo complex is located in the town centre though is certainly worth a mention on this list for several reasons. Firstly, the venue is both a cinema and a bingo hall and has a retro art-deco kind of feel. Occupying a large footprint the atmosphere feels like going back in time in a good way and has slot of interesting things to see and explore.

Whilst Felixstowe can get busy during peak season it is well served by great amenities such as close parking and lots of public toilet options. It is very accessible, and visitors can arrive, pick a spot and lobster on the beach all day long. 

During the winter all of the arcades are still open though they may operate limited opening times so always best to enquire ahead before visiting. With free on street parking visiting during winter is just as fun as the summer months, just with less people.

This seaside beach resort is compact and has all of the entertainment options and amenities that any visitor could want in a convenient, accessible area. There are many great accommodation options from caravans to high-end hotels. Felixstowe amusements have all of the charm and classic seaside fun that one would expect from any of the larger seaside locations in the UK and punches well above it’s weight. A perfect day trip from London on the train with enough time to head back on the last train home. Highly recommended for both day trips and extended holidays.
