The Flamingo Amusement Arcade is centrally located on Marine Terrace, next to the Marine Gardens and just behind the Margate Clocktower. Its iconic Flamingo signage makes it hard to miss for anyone visiting the Margate tourist area. The building also houses Lost Island Adventure Golf on the upper floors, accessible from inside the arcade. There is also a rear entrance at the corner of Hall-by-the-Sea Road.
The main entrance runs along the promenade, featuring wide bi-fold doors that offer easy, flat pavement access and are wheelchair friendly. Across the foyer, rows of Flamingo-branded claw machines await, with a very reasonable offer of three plays for one pound. Energetic groups will also be tempted by the Dance Dance Revolution arcade machine, perfect for a friendly dance-off.
Children’s Arcade Games
Whilst there aren’t kiddie rides out of the front of this arcade, they do have a lovely three-child mini carousel just inside the front of the venue. They also have a modern Krazy Kar kiddie ride with a display screen. There are also mini fairground-style ticket games, including Shark Park and Crazy Kitten.
Claw Machines
The Flamingo Arcade has no shortage of fun claw machines, from the Flamingo-branded classic Elaut machines out front to the Winfall Revolution spinning indoors, there is something here for everyone. Claw grabber fans will be happy to know that the range of plush prizes here is very decent, and they have branded prizes including Steven the Seagull, Winnie the Pooh and Lilo & Stitch characters. Gaming fans will also love the Super Mario characters, including Yoshi and Mushroom. There are also Skill Cut machines available to play here, where players can enjoy the chance to win huge plushies by cutting the string.
Coin Pushers
Flamingo Amusements has a great range of ticket-paying coin pushers that are also well-stocked with exciting on-shelf prizes. There are several circular Sweet Falls and Clockwork Oranges coin pushers with the wheel spinner feature for big ticket wins.
They also offer Pharaoh’s Golden Ticket, Haunted House, Cop the Loot and Temple of Tickets, all with upper feature boards. Fans of modern pushers will also love the SpongeBob SquarePants Pineapple Arcade, where players can win big ticket prizes.
Classic Arcade Games
There is no shortage of classics in this arcade, from arcade racing games including two-player Dead Heat and Sega Rally 3 to a four-player Mario Kart DX, where friends can race and shoot each other with shells, whilst using power-ups. Fans of arcade shooting games will love the Jurassic Park from Raw Thrills, and also the two-player Nerf Arcade game.
If motorbikes are preferred, then check out the two-player Super Bikes 2 ride-on or challenge a friend to a game on the Air FX Air Hockey Table. For those who prefer to use mental prowess, there is a Deal or No Deal Quiz machine to challenge general knowledge. Music fans will also love the absolute classic two-player Guitar Hero Arcade. For tuppence fans, there is a two-player Tower of Terror two-pence roll-down machine with a feature board for winning tickets.
Fairground Games
Quite possibly the strongest area of the flamingo arcade is the great range of ticket-paying fairground games available to play. These are great for not only winning tickets but also receiving bragging rights for winning or smashing high scores. The Flamingo has a whole line-up of classic fairground-style games, and these include Down the Clown, Wild West Shootout, Fireball, Ice Ball (skee-ball), Milk Jug Toss, All in, Pixel Chase and several more.
An arcade machine not seen often is the Quik Drop game, where players have to catch balls into cups to gain high scores and win ticket prizes. There is also a Monster Mash single-player arcade shooting gallery game, which looks very fun to play. Sports fans will love the row of Sonic Allstars basketball arcade machines, Lane Master bowling and the Lost Island mini golf, with the entrance being located at the rear of the venue close to the fairground-style machines.
Big Arcade Machines
Go big or go home is what we always say, and here players can enjoy some jumbo arcade games, including a tall-screen Crossy Road and a two-player Crazy Hammer wrecking ball game. There is also a two-player Piano Keys for music maestros.
Wheel Spinners
Flamingo Amusement Arcade has one of the popular Fidget Spinner Frenzy wheel spinners, where players have to spin the mounted fidget spinner to win a prize. Wheel spinner fans will also love the classic Big Bass Fishing Wheel and Crank It, for a quick boost in ticket prize totals.
VR Machines
This amusement arcade has a two-player VR Power Green Light Experience, with a fully immersive rig and a wide range of experiences to choose from on the digital jukebox-style display.
Ticket Slot Machines
There are a few ticket slot machines at the Flamingo Arcade and these include a triple-row Ticket Raider with upper feature board that pays out wins using the ‘one big ticket’ method to cut down on ticket waste.
£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines
The Flamingo Arcade has a huge range of Cat D £5 jackpot fruit machines. There are rows of standalone classics, including Indiana Jones, The Italian Job, Classic Bullseye, several Monopoly variants, Red Hot Roll and Clockwork Oranges. There are also lots of triple-row classics with upper feature boards, including Party Time, Bullion Bars Solid Gold and Rainbow Riches. There are also several Skill Ball Zingy machines for the bingo fans out there.

Casino Slots
With everything else going on in this venue there did not seem to be a casino slots section, though this really isn’t missed as the fruit machine selection is very large and the rest of the arcade is geared toward families with children.
Venue Verdict
With a fully stocked prize shop, with floor-to-ceiling windows of fantastic prizes, Flamingo arcade is surely a no-brainer to visit, especially if the weather is turning. The arcade has several ticket eater machines and is spacious and well organised. The wide range of different types of arcade machines means something exciting for every member of the family. And if it’s windy outside, visitors can also guarantee that the Lost Island Golf upstairs will not be affected. A fun amusement arcade with an energetic vibe. Do not miss if visiting Margate.
