Margate Amusements is the largest and most prominent arcade on the Margate seafront. Located on Marine Terrace, it neighbours the Dreamland redevelopment site on one side and Domino’s Pizza on the other. The surrounding tourist area is packed with cafés, shops, and family-friendly attractions, making it a hub of activity. Visitors can enjoy a stroll along the promenade while taking in the mix of traditional seaside fun and modern entertainment.
Margate Amusements Arcade has a long, wide frontage with several double door entrances with a flat threshold, making it mobility accessible and wheelchair friendly. Looking at the front elevation, the left side entrances open straight into the adult gaming centre. The rest of the doors open up into a bright open-plan arcade.
Claw Machines
The front foyer area has many claw machines, and these include E-Claw and Magic Claw machines and also some Skill Cut style grabbers. The prizes on offer here are all top quality, and they include branded plushies, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario and Minecraft characters. They also have a Happy Miner game, which is a four-player crane machine, where players control a crane arm to scoop up fun sweets and lollies as prizes.

Children’s Arcade Games
Many arcade games at Margate Amusements are suitable for the youngest of children. These include several kiddie rides, including a helicopter (Fantasy Aircraft) and a vintage car. Other games that children will love include the Angry Birds ‘whack-a-mole’ style game and also the Trolls-branded push arm prize machine. There is also a cute Ocean Adventure two-player kids’ shooting game where players shoot colourful little fishies on a digital screen.

Coin Pushers
Margate Amusements boasts an impressive collection of the latest coin pushers; each offering a variety of high-quality shelf prizes. Every machine also pays out ticket prizes, which can be redeemed at the large and well-stocked prize shop located at the rear of the arcade.
Fun coin pushers include Butterfly, Carousel, Caterpillar, Wacky Races, Jurassic Park, Sweet Falls, Clockwork Oranges, Minion Paradise and Simpsons Donut Daze. While visiting, we won the super bonus on a circular Sweet Falls machine that paid out over 100 tickets! They also have Snakes and Ladders and Chip & Win, both with the upper feature board, and Prize Quest with the golden egg instant win prizes.

A rare coin pusher worth mentioning is the Star Burst arcade machine, where players can win gatchapon-style Kawaii Kuties capsules in a similar way as Prize Quest. This Arcade also has some of the latest closed-loop coin pushers, including a Prize Quest machine and the popular Magic Forest ball pusher.

Classic Arcade Games
This Margate Amusement venue has no shortage of classic arcade games for a wide range of players. Arcade racing fans will love the two-player Phantom Motorcycle and Moto Blitz DX machines, and there is a full-sized Pac-Man Smash air hockey table. If arcade shooting games are favoured, then check out the impressive four-player AR Sniper game or the Brave Firefighters game that squirts water at digital targets!
To expend some energy, visitors may opt for a boogie on the Dance Dance Revolution X dance machine or test their general knowledge with the Deal or No Deal quiz machine. There are also three fun roll-down machines, including Angry Birds, Temple of Tickets and Adders and Ladders. For friends, looking for a challenge, why not face off on the arcade basketball game - Dream Shooter Golden?
Fairground Games
The fairground games seem to be concentrated at either end of the arcade, and these include Power Roll, two-player ‘The Sideshow’, Sink It at one end, and two-player Down the Clown, Pixel Chase, Ring Toss and Skee-ball at the other. These types of machines make great competitive fun and also offer a chance to win big ticket prizes that can be exchanged at the prize shop.
Big Arcade Machines
Love big arcade machines? Then be sure to check out the two-player Connect 4 Hoops or the Transformers Shadows Rising game from Sega. For the musically inclined, there is the ever-fun Grand Piano Keys, for two players to enjoy.
Wheel Spinners
The classic Big Bass Fishing Reel can be found alongside the rarer Minions Carnival Chaos, both similar machines paying out big ticket wins. One of our favourite looking wheel spinners can also be found here, which is the Wile E Coyote wheel spinner that has an impressively colourful display.

VR Machines
There are some fun virtual reality arcade games to be found in this amusement arcade, and they include the two-player VR Rabbids and a VR Power array with a range of different VR experiences to enjoy.
Ticket Slot Machines
Margate Amusements has a small yet quality range of ticket slot machines and these include triple-row Cops & Robbers and Aladdin. There is also a quad-row sit-down Wacky Races machine, with all three games having upper feature boards for big ticket-winning jackpots.
£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines
Similar to ticket slots, there are a couple of low-stakes fruit machines here and these include a Party Time classic triple-row and a couple of classic Oxo-style machines in the adult gaming area at ten pence per play.

Casino Slots
Margate Amusements has a quality casino slots area with its own entrance and also an entrance from within the arcade. They have a great range of £100 and £500 jackpot slots from the most popular providers, including Blueprint Gaming and Light and Wonder. Players can choose from the latest and greatest games across modern digital terminals, though players can also find some classic mechanical fruit machines with £100 jackpots. A calmer private area, with a cosy atmosphere away from the energetic youth.

Venue Verdict
Margate Amusements is clean, spacious and offers a high-quality range of arcade games, with many paying out ticket wins, making it the perfect arcade to tally tickets with friends. There is a great range of modern machines, with many offering two-player (or more) competitive fun. Stand out here is certainly the impressive range of coin pushers, which pay out shelf wins and tickets generously. With high footfall, it is very easy to knock over stacks of tuppences here. A trip to Margate would not be complete without a day of fun spent in this fantastic amusement venue.
As with all our reviews, plenty more machines can be found, best discovered in person!
