Gameshow Gaming

The Gameshow amusement arcade is located centrally on Pier Ave at the heart of the Clacton-on-Sea tourist area. It neighbours the Gaiety Amusements on one side and the Moon & Starfish Wetherspoons on the other. With a similar layout to Gaiety next door, one can find the entrance to the casino slots area on the left-hand approach with the other doors on the frontage leading to the main amusement arcade area.

Arcade Approach

Outside the front of the arcade are several young kiddie rides to entice passers by to let the little ones have a quick ride and even pop in for more fun. Much like the other Pier Ave arcades, Gameshow also has a nice range of claw grabber machines out front, which really helps capture the attention of pedestrians and passers-by.

Upon entry, visitors are greeted with a spacious venue that is seemingly wheelchair friendly. It has a huge range of different games, machines and sections. The prize shop / change kiosk runs across the backwall and services both the adult gaming area and the main arcade. 

Crane Claw Machines

Along with the many claw machines that are located out the front of the venue there are many different types of crane grabber machines dotted around the inside of the venue too. These include ‘prize every time’ claw games and also smaller crane machines, where younger hands can win smaller plush toys and other prizes. There is also a Sweet Land Premia - enticing players to win a range of sweets and lollies for just 50 pence!

Next to the change kiosk is also a Toy Box Catcher for pint-size players to have a chance to win mini branded plushies and even £5 notes. Keychain enthusiasts will also be happy to know that there is a Win Fall Revolution claw machine offering a range of branded Disney character keychains to win.

Coin Pushers

The coin pushers are spread out all around the front of the venue and they have an interesting range of modern coin pushers that have ticket wins, generous tuppenny falls and a great range of shelf prizes. Modern coin pushes include Justice League, Minions, Jurassic Park and Home Simpson Donut Days. 

Temple of Tickets, Haunted House and Pharaohs Golden Ticket are three examples of the latest type of coin pushes that have upper feature boards where players can move around the board like a traditional fruit machine and also win tickets and gain bonuses to build up bigger wins. 

Fairground Games

Gameshow has a great range of ticket arcade games and many of them are examples of what one might find at a fun fair or summer fete. These include games where the player has to use consistent skill to aim, throw or shoot targets to win tickets and other great prizes. 

These include Pac-Man Roller Skee ball, two basketball arcade machines (Sonic and Pac-Man Baller) and Bulls-eye Crack Shot. If you enjoy the classic two pence roll-down style machines then they have a modern twist on these in the form of Bingo King which lets players play bingo and win tickets once they reach the upper feature board.

Big Ticket Arcade Machines

One can find a nice range of the latest large-scale ticket machines in the Gameshow arcade, and these include Connect 4 Hoops, Demolition King, Axe Heroes and Fireball by Cosmic Leisure. There is also a Ball Madness machines where one has to collect balls suspended in mid-air inside the machine - just like a real gameshow!

Venue Verdict

Gameshow is a bright, well-laid out arcade venue with plenty of great modern games. With a nice balance between coin pushers and larger ticket arcade machines there is something here for everyone and ticket wins are generous and easy to attain. A highly recommended amusements that is certainly worth exploring on any day-out or extended trip to the Clacton beach resort.
