Pavilion Fun Park

The Pavilion Bowl amusement arcade is part of the larger Pavilion Fun Park complex. It extends across the upper pedestrianised Pavilion area on Marine Parade with amusement park rides and a range of food kiosks serving seafront staples including ice cream and fish & chips. There are multiple stairs and entrances from the upper deck taking visitors down the lower cliff area where the amusement arcade is located. The lower part of the complex also houses a restaurant, full-sized tenpin bowling alley, pool table area and kids soft play area. 

Arcade Entrance

The amusement arcade has several entrances though is best entered from the entrance on Kings Prom at the lower cliff area opposite the Clacton Pier Arcade. There is also a direct staircase entrance from Marine Parade that takes patrons through the restaurant and dining area or the café and kids soft play area. 

Coin Pushers

Entering beachside, visitors are greeted by a large open plan venue with high ceilings and a wide range of different coin pushers to play. 

One can find Rainbow Riches Party, Scooby Doo, Snakes and Ladders, Deal or No Deal, Sweet Falls, Minions and Simpsons Donut Daze. All of the machines paid out ticket wins though there was a Haunted House pusher with upper feature board.

Crane Claw Machines

There are several claw machines spread around the venue with a colourful row lining the main entrance. These enjoy great plush toy prizes including Steven the Seagull, Spiderman, Minions, Lilo & Stitch and other Disney characters.

A stand-out crane grabber game was the Cosmic XL machine that allowed players to win a large Minions plush toy and if unsuccessful gives a second chance to spin a wheel to gain a prize of redeemable tickets.

Classic Arcade Games 

Next to the bowling alley there is a Pac-Man Smash air hockey table, Super Bikes 3 and also a Jurassic Park arcade game. In the bar / pool area there is also another air hockey table and a two-player retro-style Atari Pong table machine. There is also a boxing punch machine next to the ladies toilets on the lower ground floor.

Fairground Ticket Games

Playing competitive games with friends is what going to the bowling alley is all about! So why not see who has the best aim with this great range of fairground style amusement games. 

Choose from Lane Master, bowling, Coconut Shy, Across Skee Ball, Fireball and Connect 4 Hoops. There are two-player Down the Clown and Hyper Shoot basketball arcade games if throwing is one’s passion. If players prefer shooting, then there is also a Sega Shoot it Win it game where quality shelf prizes can be won direct from the machine for knocking down all of the targets. 

In terms of unique arcades games there is an arcade machine called Crazy Cat Circus, where the idea of the game is to throw balls into 2 trash cans (that contain cats) that pop up and down. More points for more balls means more tickets. 

Big Ticket Arcade Machines

Pavilion Bowl arcade has a great range of larger sit-down arcade games including Pearl Fisheries, Ocean Party and Crazy Doctor. For the musically inclined there is a Piano Keys ticket game and also a Hotshots Fire Rescue.  

If spinning a huge ticket win sounds fun, then fear not as the Pavilion Bowl has a nice range of wheel spinner games including Monopoly Roll-n-Go, Wheel of Fortune and Crank It. 

Ticket Slot Machines

In the Pavilion Bowl Arcade next to the adult gaming area, they have a Ticket Raider triple and a single Crazy Chicken ticket slot machine where players can win an incredible 1600 tickets!

£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines

Next to the restaurant area, there are six pools tables nicely spaced-out so friends can play unabated. Next to these are some Monopoly-themed £5 jackpot fruit machines. In this section there is also a Pac-man Skill Ball and also Golden Balls machine, both paying £50 jackpots. There are no £5 fruit machines in the main childrens arcade.

Casino Gaming Area

There are two casino slots areas at the Pavilion Bowl. Having two areas certainly makes up for them being more compact than the average adult slots lounge and there is more than enough variety between the two.

Here, they have a selection of the latest digital Blueprint Gaming terminals, hosting a wide range of the most recent casino slot games including Light and Wonder and Blueprint Gaming classics such as Fishin Frenzy, Big Catch and Anubis Rising. There are £100 and £500 jackpot machines and also a selection of Golden Greats machines.

Venue Verdict

The Pavilion Bowl Amusement arcade is a fantastic place to spend the day with the family as there are so many great amenities all under one roof.
