Fantasy Island Amusement Arcade Ingoldmells

Fantasy Island is a landmark amusement park in the heart of Ingoldmells, occupying a prominent position at the junction of Roman Bank and Sea Lane. Its towering rollercoasters dominate the local skyline, making it one of the area's most recognisable attractions. Alongside its collection of headline rides, including the Millennium and Odyssey, the park also features a bustling mix of market stalls, food kiosks, sideshows and traditional fairground attractions, making it one of the biggest tourist draws on the Lincolnshire coast.

Alongside the rides, Fantasy Island is also home to one of the biggest and best amusement arcades in Ingoldmells. Located at the front of the park on Sea Lane, it sits right alongside the resort's other popular arcades, making it an easy stop for anyone exploring the area. The arcade offers step-free wheelchair access, while two large on-site car parks make arrival simple and convenient.

As well as the large arcade, visitors can enjoy an incredible light-up eight-lane ten pin bowling alley, dodgems and Lava Creek Adventure Golf, giving families plenty to do in one place. Whether taking a break from the rides or visiting specifically for the arcades, Fantasy Island is home to one of the best ticket arcades in Ingoldmells.

iCard

Fantasy Island uses an iCard top-up & tap card system across many arcade machines, allowing players to load credit onto a reusable card instead of carrying coins. This makes managing budgets easier, with parents able to set spending limits while still enjoying the excitement of ticket games and prize machines.
The system also offers better value, with selected machines providing discounted plays when using the card. For ticket hunters, this means more chances to win tickets for the same budget. Traditional coin fans are also catered for, with 2p change machines available near the coin pushers.

Coin Pushers

The multiple wide entrances on Sea Lane provide a welcoming first impression, offering a glimpse into the impressive gaming space beyond. Inside, sculpted ceilings and trailing LED lighting create a striking arcade atmosphere that immediately stands out.

At the front of the arcade, rows of large coin pushers create an instant attraction, with 2p machines packed full of shelf prizes and plenty of coins ready to drop. Fan favourites include Rainbow Riches, Rock-n-Reels, Justice League and Tom & Jerry, Only Fools & Horses, Fun of the Fair, with many also offering ticket wins alongside coin and prize rewards.

The pedestrian side entrance foyer adds even more variety, featuring additional 2p machines including Push Yer Luck, Sweet Success and Fantasy Falls, a unique Fantasy Island branded coin pusher.
Fantasy Island Amusements also has some of the latest closed-loop coin pushers including Spiderman, SpongeBob Squarepants Pineapple Arcade and the now classic Pearl Fishery ball pusher.

Kids Arcade Games

To the side of the Sea Lane entrance, the main pedestrian route into the wider park leads visitors to a secondary arcade entrance and foyer area, where a colourful selection of kiddie rides provides plenty of entertainment for younger children.

In the main arcade there are several family-friendly games designed for the smallest players, including a four-player Hungry Hungry Hippos arcade game based on the classic board game, the four-player Bump-n-Smash racing game, and All Star Pogo, an interactive jumping game that encourages kids to bounce their way to a high score. Stacks of children's steps are also positioned throughout the arcade, helping younger players reach taller machines.

Claw Machines

Even before stepping inside, visitors are greeted by a selection of classic Elaut claw machines on the forecourt, inviting passers-by to have a go for just 20p per play using either cash or iTap.
Inside the side foyer, rows of striking rainbow LED-lit Trend Invaders Catcher cranes showcase the modern Asian-style claw machine trend. 

Further machines can be found throughout the main arcade, including banks of E-Claw machines, Skill Cut-style games, WinFall Revolution, and a variety of smaller individual cranes. Prize quality is excellent throughout, with the machines stocked almost exclusively with popular branded plush characters and other highly collectable merchandise.

Ticket Arcade Games

With Fantasy Island enjoying such a modern and futuristic looking arcade it is no surprise that the main draw here is larger ticket-paying arcade machines.

Prize Shop

There is a large welcome prize shop, which is more like a bar where players can chat to helpful staff about the great selection of prizes on offer to redeem tickets for. There are quality toys and collectables to win and souvenirs and smaller prizes such as keychains and lollies. 

Fairground Games

There is a fantastic selection of fairground-style ticket games at this amusement venue and these include fan-favourites such as Coconut Shy, the four-player Derby Day, a full-size Connect Four Hoops among other great basketball arcade games (Pac-Man Baller), Axe Heroes, Milk Jug Toss, Gold Fishing, Down the Clown and many more.

Wheel Spinners

Fans of roulette play will love the modern wheel spinners available at this amusements arcade and these include the popular Wheel of Fortune, Magicians Wheel and Jersey Wheels.

Classic Arcade Games

Although Fantasy Island has a modern, high-tech feel, it still features a great selection of classic arcade machines alongside its newer attractions.

Arcade Shooters

This arcade features modern shooting games rarely seen in many UK venues, including Gun Storm 2 and the giant ‘Shooting Gallery’ which is a modern take on the classic air-gun arcade shooting gallery. Both games offer fast-paced action for players who enjoy target-based gameplay.

Arcade Racers

Arcade racing fans are well catered for with several modern driving experiences, including the two-player motorbike racer Super Motor 5 DX, the two-player Street Racing, and the popular four-player Bump-N-Smash, which also pays out ticket wins.

Air Hockey

The arcade also features a full-size Pac-Man Smash Air Hockey table, bringing a modern ‘multi-puck’ twist to one of the most recognisable arcade classics.

There are also at least two boxing punch machines available for visitors looking to test their power and compete for the highest score and also a large Step Mania dance machine for the equally energetic.

VR Games

Fantasy Island has certainly embraced virtual reality technology, with attractions ranging from the early Typhoon simulator to modern VR experiences. These include a two-player ride-on jet fighter, two triple-screen racing simulators, and the action-packed Super Gatling VR shooting game.

Ticket Slot Machines

There do not appear to be any ticket slot machines, although this is understandable given the arcade's strong focus on large multi-player ticket redemption games. 

Fruit Machines

There is a selection of CatD £5 jackpot fruit machines here including Gold Mine and several Deal or No Deal games and these are located inside the adult gaming area. However in the main arcade there is also a row of fun Skill Ball bingo machines to enjoy with jackpots of up to £50.

Slots Lounge

The Fantasy Island Amusement Arcade is home to a large, modern slots lounge, featuring a great range of the latest digital terminals with jackpots of up to £500. There is a strong mix of big-jackpot modern fruit machines and digital slot terminals, so fans of classic gameplay will also be pleased to find mechanical spinning reels.

Venue Verdict

Fantasy Island offers something different to the traditional seaside arcades along Sea Lane. While the surrounding amusement venues deliver classic British arcade charm, Fantasy Island feels more like a modern, premium entertainment centre, with a spacious layout, cashless tap card system and a high-end finish reminiscent of the top arcade venues found in the USA and Asia.

For guests staying at Butlin's, the area is even more appealing. With Butlin's own arcades, Fantasy Island and the many independent amusement venues, everything is within easy walking distance. Few places in the UK offer such a high concentration of arcade fun!
