Showboat Amusement Arcade Hunstanton

The Fabulous Showboat is a large amusement arcade occupying a prominent position in the Hunstanton tourist area. Neighboured by the Mint Slots lounge on one side (a separate gaming venue) and Thompson’s Rock shop on the other, this entertainment venue has a wide range of fun arcade games to suit the whole family.

Arcade Entrance

The frontage is wide with several double doors opening into an open-plan venue. With floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the games on offer, this venue has plenty of space and a flat threshold, making it mobility scooter and wheelchair friendly. 

With an adult gaming area tucked away at the rear left and a fully stocked prize shop along the right-hand wall, the venue extends further back than it first appears, a hidden treat for arcade explorers.

Children’s Arcade Games

For the smallest of children, there are plenty of fitting games, and these include some tiny claw machines called Crazy Toy Cube. There are several kiddie rides, including a colourful swing boat ride, a pirate ship, a red sports car and a three-child Teapots ride, all perfect for a photo opportunity.

Claw Machines

There is a huge range of crane and claw machines at this arcade, including many grabber machines packed full of sweets, ticket reels and golden eggs. Full-sized Maxx Grab and Toy World claw machines line the walls with a great range of branded plush prizes. With some at only twenty pence per play, patrons can find quality teddy prizes including Sonic, Chicken Run, Paddington and Mario characters. 

Fans of Skill Cut will also love the multiple Skill and Barber Cut machines found here, so be sure to check those strings for an easy win! A special mention to the fantastic Super Grab, which is a giant circular claw machine that slowly spins around and allows six players to play at once. Fans of Winfall Revolution-style machines will also love the Crazy Gifts spinners, which are copies of the same.

Coin Pushers

The Showboat Arcade in Hunstanton is packed full of unique, classic and rare coin pushers. With classic circular coin pushers, including Star Trek, Coronation Street, Snakes and Ladders, Can Can, Clown Around and a beautiful Tutti Frutti coin flipper. These tuppenny falls are packed full of fun prizes suitable for all ages.

There are also several classic rectangular coin pushers including ‘It’s a Cracker’, Rollercoaster and Snakes and Ladders. Fans of modern closed-loop coin pushers will enjoy playing SpongeBob SquarePants Pineapple Arcade.

Classic Arcade Games

Classic arcade staples include a four-player AR Sniper and ‘The Walking Dead’ arcade shooting games. They have a Pac-Man Smash air hockey table and also an Angry Birds Stomper. At the rear of the venue, arcade racing game fans will be happy to find a single-player Power Truck driving game. 

Fairground Games

There is no shortage of fun fairground games at the Showboat Arcade, and these include Sonic All-Stars and Pac-Man Basketball arcade machines. There are two Space Guard machines and a shooting gallery game called The Sideshow 1889, a three-player shooting game that pays out ticket prizes. Whack-a-mole fans will also love the Plants Vs Zombies arcade machine and the Boxing Challenge an arcade boxing machine at the rear of the venue.  

Big Arcade Machines

Upon entry, patrons are greeted by a huge Show Down Mech Top Speed racing machine, where four players can play at the same time. Similar to Mario Kart gameplay, this game also pays out ticket wins. At the rear of the venue, Pac-Man fans will be elated to find a four-player Pac-Man Swirl machine that pays out big ticket wins. 

Wheel Spinners

Showboat Amusements has rare wheel spinners, including Blue Blazes, Red Hot and Ben Bones, which is a pirate-themed wheel spinner on a digital screen. A convenient and fun way to win tickets. 

VR Machines

This amusement arcade has a two-player VR-Power machine where players sit inside bucket seats that have headsets and rear speakers and joysticks for a fully immersive experience. There is also a VR Racing machine with triple screens and a motorised seating array. 

Ticket Slot Machines

Standalone ticket slot machines include Aladdin, Pieces of Eight, Tickety Boo and Tower of Terror, all with 500 ticket jackpots!

£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines

They only have a couple of five-pound jackpot fruit machines here, though that is likely due to the large number of machines in the adult gaming area. Fruit machines include a triple-row Party Time machine and also a triple row Rainbow Riches, both with upper feature boards. The casino slots lounge is located at the rear of the venue, and this area is large with a huge number of different machines available to play. Venue Verdict

With a convenient layout and an abundance of change machines, this amusement arcade is fun to explore and a memorable place to win tickets as they have a lovely ticket prize shop with great prizes on offer.
