MB's Amusement Arcade Hemsby

Local Area

MB’s Amusement Arcade is located on Beach Road and is the arcade venue closest to the Hemsby beach. Much like The Oasis arcade, it has its own forecourt area with kids activities including trampolines and there are plenty of seating options and benches out front.

The arcade itself is part of a larger venue which incorporates MB’s lounge, which is a bar / restaurant and there is also MB’s Funhouse, which is the kids indoor soft play area located upstairs. 

Food and drinks are available from the bar, restaurant and café. Located next door is Monty's fish and chips shop and also the Lacon Arms Pub, which is ran by the same people as the arcade. 

Arcade Entrance 

The main entrance to the arcade is from the beach-facing forecourt. Here, there is a disabled ramp up to the venue on one side and steps on the other meaning it is wheelchair friendly. Round to the rear of the venue is also another entrance opposite the Las Vegas Arcade, though there is a small step here. 

Upon entering MB's arcade, one is filled with a feeling of being in an old-time grotto, with lots of soft toys hanging from the ceiling and a low-light ambience that lets the machine lights shine with a cosy feel. The venue is one large rectangular room, with a range of different arcade machines.

Coin Pushers

They have an interesting range of coin pushers here, which has about a 60/40 split of non-ticket and ticket prize coin pushers. 

Many of the coin pushers here are what one would class as class / retro and certainly offer an area of interest for the keen seaside historian. 

Even though some of the coin shelves move slower than modern day machines, they still have a great range of shelf prizes including keychains, soft toys, ornaments, sweets and many more great prizes. 

They also have the 'Find a Key' gold egg mystery prizes, which could land the winner with a large ticket prize or a small rubber ducky. It’s all just a game of chance. 

The other thing to note here is that MB's Arcade has coin pushers with one pence and five pence denominations, being the only venue in Hemsby to do so. Coin pusher themes include Seaside Special, Down the Coast and Cromptons Carousel Flipper.

Classic Arcade Games

They have a range of classic and retro arcades in this arcade including a two-player Need for Speed Carbon arcade racing game and a boxing punch machine. 

Fairground Ticket Arcade Machines

In the middle of the amusements, they have some large Monster Drop style ticket arcade machines where players have to try and get the ball to land in the hole to win ticket prizes. 

There are also a range of roll-down ticket machines including modern machines such as Monopoly and Tower of Terror.

Crane Claw Machines

MB’s Amusements has a wide range of different crane claw machines dotted around the venue including Max Claw, Fantasy World and Mega Claw, all with great plush toy and teddy prizes to be won. 

Ticket Slot Machines

The whole right-hand side of the venue is dedicated to ticket slot machines. Here there is a huge range of different style ticket paying fruit and slot machines. There are triple machines including Count Dracula, X-Terminator Emoji and Lucky Ladders. One can also find many modern standalone ticket machines in this section including Crazy Chicken, Ghost Train, Crazy Fruit, Aladdin, Freddie and Pieces of Eight. 

£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines

At the opposite end of the arcade to the ticket slots, there is a row of standalone £5 jackpot fruit machines. These include Crazy Fruit, Hold your Nerve (Deal or No Deal) amongst others. 

Casino Slot Machines

Next to the row of £5 jackpot fruit machines is a door to the MB’s Bar next door. Just inside the bar is where the casino slots are located and there is a row of £100 jackpot slots, which mix modern digital terminals and traditional pub style fruit machines. 

Venue Verdict

MB's Arcade has some fun and interesting machines and it is especially entertaining for those who love ticket slot machines. With the great range of other amenities in the same building, there really is a wide range of activities here for the whole family.
