Richardson's Amusement Arcade Hemsby

Richardson's is an established local company that has a range of different family venues and attractions. Their motto of ‘Play Bowl Eat’ sums up their core strengths. With holiday parks and accommodation, family entertainment centres and a range of eateries, the name is familiar across East Anglia. 

As visitors approach Hemsby from Beach Road, Richardson's Arcade is the first amusements venue on the main strip. Approaching from the left-hand side of the road, players are greeted with some young kiddie rides on the outside and also a range of kiddies crane claw grabber machines out the front. With open-plan entry the venue is bright and welcoming. 

Family Arcade

With Richardson's being focused on family entertainment, there are no adult casino slots within this amusements. There are also no £5 Jackpot fruit machines, though there is a range of ticket slot machines at the back of the arcade. These include Freddie’s vacation and Cops and Robbers machines, perfect for a quick flutter that can help the kids gain enough tickets to exchange for a fantastic prize!

The main floor area is filled with modern tuppenny & 10p coin pushers with ticket wins. These include Clockwork Orange and Jurassic Park machines. Tickets can be exchanged for prizes at the prize shop window. Dotted in between the coin pushers and on the outer walls are some large modern arcade machines such as Tornado coin stacker and the Minecraft Dungeons arcade game.

In the rear section of the arcade is a wall of kiddies aiming and throwing fairground games machines. There is also Crank It wheel spinner and a whack-a-mole, both paying tickets for prizes. Tucked away at the back is a Terminator Salvation two-player arcade shooting game. A firm favourite of arcade shoot-em-up fans.

The other interesting thing about Richardson's Amusement Arcade is that they have these quadruple ticket eater machines that are made with see-through Perspex, so that curious young minds can see what happens when the tickets are fed into the machine and counted for prize wins. 

Venue Verdict

What this arcade lacks in fruit machines and slot machines, it certainly makes up for with a great range of ticket arcade games and modern coin pushers. The venue is clean, modern and a joy to spend time in. Highly recommended for families with young children.
