Sands Amusements Arcade Hemsby

Local Area

Sands Arcade is located at the corner of Beach Road and St Thomas Road occupying a prominent position in the heart of the Hemsby tourist area.  It is one of three amusements in Hemsby with bright red signage. So be careful not to confuse it with the others.

Arcade Entrance 

Around the outside of the arcade are many claw grabber machines and also some kiddie rides for younger children and toddlers. There is a wide entrance way on the corner for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and those with dogs or pets to easily enter. There is also another wide entrance on the Beach Road side of the venue. 

Coin Pushers

With a spacious open plan design there are larger arcade machines dotted around the outside with the middle of the arcade dedicated to coin pushers.

Sands has many modern coin pushers in this arcade with most having coin and ticket prizes. The shelf prizes are generous and there is a mix of sweets & lollies and ornaments and keychains including Gremlins, Lilo & Stitch and other branded toys. 

There are several themed pushers including Justice League, Clockwork Orange, Car Wash and Scooby Doo nestled between lots of 2p change machines and ticket eater machines for players convenience. There is also a drinks machine for those who need to quench their thirst. 

Classic Arcade Games

On the left-hand side of the main area are some arcade racing machines including two-player Mario Kart DX and Daytona USA Rally machines. 

Fairground Ticket Machines

Next to the arcade racing games is a selection of aiming and shooting fairground games including Hit Smash and Basket Blitz. They also have a Big Bass Wheel Pro wheel spinner game where players win tickets to redeem for prizes. There are also some Tower of Tickets roll-down style machines with ticket wins.

Crane Claw Machines

Sands Amusements has an extensive range of crane claw machines with some inside and some facing the outer concourse.

They have classic Seaside Elaut EX1 machines with quality licenced toys, teddies and plushies including Lilo & Stitch, Steven the Seagull, Hello Kitty and Scooby Doo. 

There is also a range of modern claw grabbers including Win Fall Revolution, Cosmic Crane and a Toy Zone Stack and Grab, which is a hybrid between a Block Stacker and a claw grabber machine.

Ticket Slot Machines

Sands Arcade has two triple row ticket slot machines and these are Aladdin and Ticket (Tomb) Raider which can be found at the front of the venue. 

£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines

This amusements arcade also has a huge selection of £5 jackpot fruit machines and there really are too many here to list individually, though some stand out machines are mentioned below. 

There are some of the larger games dotted around the periphery of the main arcade area, and these are all sit-down quad machines including an Adders & Ladders, Party Games and Treasury.

At the rear of the main arcade are four big rows of various standalone and triple £5 jackpot fruit machines including many Bar-X style machines, a Clockwork Orange and three Rainbow Riches chrome-cabinets machines. They also have Monopoly and Snakes and Ladders. There are also two Skill Ball Deluxe machines in the main area with £50 jackpots. 

At the rear of the fruit machine section is the main change kiosk where players can exchange tickets for a great range of fantastic ticket redemption prizes (or get change).

Casino Slots Lounge

The adult casino slots lounge in Sands amusements is very large and they have a great range of digital and mechanical machines to suit every gamblers taste. 

There are top prizes right up to £500 jackpots and there are also many £25 and £100 jackpot machines to play. 

Sands slots lounge also has sit-down Sizzling Slot machines with £100 jackpots and also many of the latest Blueprint Gaming terminals with all the latest games.

There is a modern casino ticket redemption change machine, where one can exchange adult ticket wins for cash. There are even some vending machines for snacks too.  

In the very rear section, they have a row of ten sit-down machines for Party Time Arena and Bullion Bars both with five machines apiece, with both paying £100 jackpots from the upper feature boards. 

Venue Verdict

Sands Amusements is a great arcade venue with a fun atmosphere and a nice range of coin pushers and fruit machines. If visiting Hemsby with friends or family then it is well worth a visit.
