Leisureland Amusement Arcade is situated at the town-end of Marine Parade next to the historic Empire building and sitting opposite the Pirates Cove Mini Golf course on the Great Yarmouth beach front.
It is an interesting building, that appears to have some historic frontage tucked behind the modern seaside signage. The arcade itself is split into two separate budlings with a large alleyway / pedestrian access dividing the venue down the middle.
Arcade Adventures
Both sides of the Leisureland complex have some fantastic arcade machines and so we will review both the left-side and right-side areas of the arcade.
The frontage is wide and there are large welcoming entrances on both sides of the venue. Out front are a selection of young kiddie rides including a fire engine, airplane and wave patrol machine, perfect for toddlers and the youngest of fun seekers.
Right-side Arcade
Upon entering the right-side arcade, visitors will notice lining the walls are a nice range or crane claw machines with various plushies and soft toys to win. There are good quality prizes in the grabber machines such as licenced soft teddies from Planet Earth to Pikachu. There are also Block Stacker style machines with plush prizes. There is also a large Step Mania X dance machine near the front entrance.
More rows of claw machines line the front of the arcade, which then become a huge range of coin pushers both with and without tickets for prizes. There are some great themed coin pushers here including The Simpsons, Rainbow Riches, Lady Bug and Justice League.
In the middle of the arcade on the left-hand wall is a central change kiosk and prize windows. There are a huge number of different prizes to be won here and they really do have a quality selection with items including skateboards, electronics and more. The rear section offers more ticket redemption fairground games including a giant crane claw grabber in the corner.
£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines
There is a Rainbow Riches orange triple fruit machine with upper feature board near the main change kiosk. Also in the rear of the arcade are three more £5 jackpot triple fruit machines including a Party Time and Gold Run both with upper feature board.
The rear of the arcade narrows into a corridor, which leads to the adult casino slots area. Along here is a great range of retro £5 jackpot fruit machines including Clockwork Orange, Crazy Fruit and an original Rainbow Riches machine from Barcrest. There are also some classic Bar-X style machines.
Casino Slots Lounge
The casino slots lounge is at the very rear of the right-hand side building. It has a great range of both mechanical fruit machines and modern casino slots. There are Blueprint, Vantage and Golden Greats machines here with hundreds of the latest games. The spacing is pleasant and there is lots of room to play in comfort.
Top prizes start from £25 all the way up to £500 jackpot slots with most machines being £100 jackpot machines. There are Queen and Batman £100 jackpot fruit machines and also many triple machines including a Luck of the Irish and a Lady Luck Moonstruck both with £100 jackpots. There really is a huge amount of choice here for fans of all game types.
Left-side Arcade
Similar to the right-side, there seems to be more crane claw machines at the front of the arcade that filter into coin pushers in the main section. There are more themed coin pushers here including Lady Bug, Clockwork Orange, justice league and Cops and Robbers ticket pusher.
This side seems to focus more on larger tickets arcade games and has lots of roll-down style fairground machines where players can roll to win tickets. There are also several wheel spinner machines including Monopoly Roll-n-Go.

The rear section also has more prize window displays and another change kiosk where patrons can exchange tickets for prizes. They have a really great selection of quality prizes such as modern electronics and licenced Disney and Pokemon souvenirs.
Tickets Slot Machines
There are also tickets slot machines dotted around the arcade also where players can spin-a-win for a ticket prize. Including a sit-down quad Dracula and Temple of Tickets (Indiana Jones) ticket fruit machine.
This side of the venue is dedicated to larger, modern fairground-style ticket machines, with no casino gaming area. However, with a spacious adult gaming section in the right-side building, it isn’t necessary. The venue provides a well-balanced experience for all visitors.
Venue Verdict
Leisureland is a modern, bright, well-thought-out venue that makes really great use of space even though it is divided down the middle. Tickets are valid on both sides and can be redeemed for prizes in either.
With a takeaway and fish and chips shop right next door, there are plenty of lunch and snack options. For the evening, The Empire sits just opposite, which is a large bar and restaurant offering craft beer and live music. With modern machines throughout, this arcade stands out as one of the top amusement centres on the Great Yarmouth seafront.
