With its prime location on Great Yarmouth's Marine Parade, the Silver Slipper Arcade has been a staple of family holidays in Norfolk for decades, with multiple generations enjoying the memorable seaside fun with family and friends.
Located directly opposite to the (recently renovated) Marina Centre car park, the Silver Slipper Arcade is one of the larger arcades on the golden mile and is situated between The Mint Arcade and the Golden Nugget Arcade.
Arcade Enchantment
The Silver Slipper is a distinctive blue colour and occupies a wide frontage on the Great Yarmouth strip. At the front of the arcade they have many young kiddie rides and outward facing claw machines to entice passers-by. There is also a well-positioned boxing punch machine for young people to test their strength.
Coin Pushers
As visitors explore the arcade further, it opens into a wider space with a huge range of different machines. There are multiple different types of coin pushers here, from tuppenny falls to 10p pusher machines with some having winning tickets for prizes and some with shelf prizes and wins only.
They have some great shelf prizes from coin pushers such as Coronation Street, Cops and Robbers and Clockwork Orange. Tickets won from these pusher machines can be exchanged for prizes at the prize shop / main change kiosk, which is located centrally at the very rear of the arcade.
Classic Arcade Games
There is a Pac-Mac air hockey table and a range of 10p per play chrome cabinet slots. These are seated amongst many triple row fruit machines including Golden X, Bank Raid and Party Time. Most are £5 jackpot fruit machines, though there is also a selection of ticket slot machines as well.
£5 Jackpot Fruit Machines
One of the best aspects about the Silver Slipper Amusements is that they have a great range of £5 jackpot fruit machines.
Today, these mechanical pub fruit machines are sadly becoming a relic of times gone by, with them slowly being replaced with digital casino style terminals, which cost less to run, provide a wider range of games and require less maintenance and upkeep.
Having said that, pub fruits provide happy nostalgia for players born before the millennium and so the Silver Slipper is admired for it's great range of £5 fruit machines. They have Monopoly machines, Dracula and even Pink Panther and an each-way nudger. Fans of the more modern fruit machines will love the Queen themed machine sitting in all it’s glory.
Casino Slots Lounge
At the rear of the venue, next to the prize shop is the adult casino slots lounge. They have called this the ‘VIP lounge’, which is a term commonly found in the US & Australia, though fun to see here. Entering here there is a small foyer section with steps up from the main arcade. This houses £100 jackpot fruit machines and also a sit-down Rainbow Riches triple.

Entering the casino slots lounge, players may notice some funky artwork and decorations on the wall, which are casino and 'lucky clover' themed. The VIP slots lounge has a range of Blueprint Gaming terminals, sit-down and stand-up triple machines, Lucky 7’s and House of Fortune. With no expense spared on comfort the atmosphere in the slot machine area area is welcoming and relaxing. There are community machines with £100 and £500 jackpots.
Venue Verdict
One notable point about the Sliver Slipper venue is that they always have lots of staff available to assist any visitors that need helping. There is never much of a queue at the prize window and the selection of prizes is expansive. A visit to Great Yarmouth seafront would not be complete without a trip to the Silver Slipper Arcade, which offers a great balance of family amusements and adult gaming machines - making for a memorable day out.
