Carousel Amusements Arcade Hemsby

Hemsby is a much-loved holiday resort just north of Great Yarmouth, known for its holiday parks, cabins and caravans. Much of the activity centres around Beach Road, while nearby Newport Road is another popular strip with arcades, holiday parks, fish and chips, cafés and restaurants.

Bermuda Holiday Park is one of the larger holiday parks in Hemsby, and at the entrance visitors will find Carousel Amusements and Café. Fairly unassuming from the road, the arcade is surprisingly spacious, with an excellent mix of classic and modern machines suited to families and retirees alike. Friendly staff, a large prize shop and even a Bowlingo alley make it well worth exploring.

Just inside the holiday park are several parking spaces for visitors, making access quick and easy. Both the front and side entrances have smooth ramps, ideal for wheelchair users and smaller mobility scooters. The café has its own separate entrance at the front, along with an internal connecting door from the arcade.

Kids Arcade Games

Entering through the side entrance, visitors are greeted by a spacious arcade filled with children’s favourites including kiddie rides, mini claw machines, whack-a-mole games, half-size basketball fun and a Phantom Motorcycle game. Most of the machines here pay out tickets, making it a great spot for younger visitors to enjoy the thrill of collecting tickets, with sweets and lollies also available to win in smaller claw machines and American-style vending machines.

Claw Machines

Carousel Amusements has a strong range of claw machines, including classic full-size Elaut cranes alongside games such as Skill Cut, Tickety Boo and Key Master. Prizes range from small plush keyrings and toys to branded favourites including Mario and Pokémon characters. 

Coin Pushers

Most of the coin pushers at Carousel Amusements are absolute classics, including Rock ’n’ Roll, Coronation Street, Royal Casino and Rhythm & Blues. They offer a fun range of shelf prizes including toys and sweets, with some even paying out five pence pieces, which is always a nice surprise to discover.

There are also several modern coin pushers that pay out tickets, including Only Fools & Horses, Snakes & Ladders and even a Pac-Man Ball pusher.

Classic Arcade Games

Quite possibly the strongest category in this arcade is its eclectic mix of classic games, some dating back over thirty years. Alongside modern two pence roll-down machines such as Snakes & Ladders, Looney Tunes and Ticket Raider, there are earlier-style games including Busy Bees, Pull My Finger and Whacky Ducks.

For competitive players, there is also air hockey and a pool table, alongside a retro roulette-style game called Colorama.
